Based in the New Forest, stainless steel sculptor artist Michael Turner has come a long way since graduating in Design in 1997. At the beginning of his career, working from his parents garage, he used nuts and bolts and reclaimed steel to create all sort of animals, reptiles and bugs. After selling everything he had made at his first exhibition, Michael made a career of it and moving into the weather resistent stainless steel means his unique sculptures can be installed inside or outside. When polished you can really see the true beauty of the metal and craftmanship but they also have a raw, rugged and natural feel to them, especially when Michael incorporates recycled materials such as boat components and bolts.
From sharks to tigers, lions, horses, peacocks and iguanas Michael is constantly expanding his portfolio of work and loves working on a large scale.
Made entirely by hand from start to finish, Michael's unique stainless steel sculptures have been showcased and installed worldwide from Gordon Ramsay's restaurants to a Sheikh's palace. Each piece is an original one-off statement that cannot be missed and Michael is happy to discuss bespoke commissions and even personally deliver and install the piece at a client’s house.
